About The Fellowship

The Made in Midtown: FLEET Creative Fellowship is a six-month, cohort-based program that brings together emerging creatives to document and celebrate the people, places, and foodways that shape Midtown.

Each fellowship cohort is intentionally limited to six fellows, creating a collaborative learning environment where participants work closely with two Creative Mentors, community partners, and neighborhood residents throughout the fellowship. Together, fellows build relationships, develop their creative practice, and learn how storytelling can strengthen community.

Throughout the fellowship, the cohort completes three Story Collections, each following the same eight-week creative rhythm. Every Story Collection begins by discovering a community story, develops through interviews, research, and multimedia production, and culminates in Kitchen Conversations—a live community storytelling experience hosted at the Made in Midtown Food Lab. Fellows then transform those experiences into multimedia stories that become part of the growing Made in Midtown Digital Archive.

By the end of the fellowship, participants will have collaborated on a professional body of work, gained hands-on experience in community storytelling, developed lasting relationships with fellow creatives and community members, and helped preserve stories that might otherwise be lost.
